End Of Season

End of Season
22nd September 2011
You can tell it’s coming to the end of the season when things start getting painfully slow. That and of course, the sun vacates us and the rain arrives to pee on our parades – or maybe that should be gangway?
Today we’re in Chania, Crete. Leandro was decked out in the sailor costume with David shooting. David’s way of smudging was “get your picture with the ugliest sailor you’ll ever see”. Strangely enough, it worked okay considering the day we were having! Zoran was shooting me and once again I was in my favourite outfit: Crete Girl. If Zoran had gone for the tagline "get your picture with the ugliest Crete Girl you'll ever see" he'd have received a rather unsubtle kick in the balls!

As the ship arrived 45 minutes late, everyone was queuing up and getting impatient.  When the gangway was finally open the crowds of irritated guests poured out the ship. It looked more like animals stampeding, if I’m honest. No one would stop for a picture and of course, there were people yelling “NO!”, sticking their hands in our face, pushing you away and so on.

The heavy rain kept coming and going so it made things harder for us. We had a target to get and relatively no way of reaching it in the rain. In the end, the rain settled in and we called it a day. We stayed out as long as possible and made sure we each had at least 100 images. It was 250 off the target, but what else could we do?
Going into the cabin, Fabio was still under cabin arrest. He was, however, due to be working later, setting up the studios before a stint in the gallery. As he didn’t have his Sea Pass Card he couldn’t get off the ship for gangway. Did security really think he was going to do a runner or something?
